Tax free hurricane supplies

I got an email from work that said that there are a number of items that are tax free (sales tax) between May 21-June 1 that are related to hurricane preparedness. So if you are looking for anything related to your 72 hour kit--this is the last weekend to buy them w/o paying taxes. The items have qualifying price ranges--I can email the pdf to anyone interested--just send me an email and I will forward it to you.

Annastyn is walking

Last night (May 23, 2006) Annastyn took her first real steps. She doesn't completely have the balance thing down--but she will stable herself on a piece of furniture, put her hands straight up in the air, and then run about 4-5 steps, till she finds herself in the safety of someone's arms! She laughs and giggles the entire way--it really is VERY cute! I would post a video--but I am still working off dial up--so that will have to wait! She took those first steps at my mom's house (which coincidentally is where Campbell took her first steps too!). She woke up this morning and was still able to walk (Campbell took her first steps and then didn't walk for about 2 weeks).

Anyways, I have a runner on my hands--and life is great! Happy Memorial Day. I know Dad is having a Saturday afternoon get-together with anyone who is able to stop by--Chicken wings on the grill and a pool party. We are moving to Inverness this weekend. We also are headed back to our branch in St. Petersburg on Sunday to give Sacrament meeting talks.

Brian and I played in a golf tournament last weekend--and I won closet to the pin (for women) on one of the par 3's. (The neat thing was there was a woman that was a golf pro at Black Diamond (a very famous course) that was playing!)

I'm in another golf tournament tomorrow (Thursday) for the Tampa Chapter of the BYU Alumni. I'm playing with my mom--so it should be fun.

Anyways--happy memorial day.

I know alot of people say that they can't post for a variety of reasons--just send me an email at brittanmitchell@gmail.com and I will post on your behalf!

Love you guys!
Brittan

Pictures of the Mitchells

Cruising Down the Road at the Farm! Life is going to be exciting as this duo gets older!

Piper's Recital

Posted on Behalf of Sarah:

I can't believe the time is here! Thank goodness!! Piper's first ballet recital (and most likely the last) is on Saturday, June 10 at 7:00 pm at Durant HighSchool. The tickets are $10. I will find out this week if they can bepurchased in advance. We will be there early and try to save as many seats as we can..shh...this is a no-no :)

Piper is dancing in the first act and is I think the 4th or 5th dance number. When the first act closes she can leave (I think) and we are planning on going out to dinner to celebrate. We would love for you all to join us. We hope you are all able to make it and share this star moment with our tiny dancer!

Hey

We all celebrated mother's day at Matt and Sarah's house on Sunday May 14th! It was a lot of fun. We found out that Matt is renting an "art office" in Downtown Tampa--it gives him his own space to paint--he also has the option of putting his art in the gallery. Pretty Cool!!!

I wanted to post the website of the house that we want to build--be nice--we went through a ton of house plans and even though it's not perfect--it was close enough!

Inverness Mitchell update

I turned 27 today. Our house sold last Friday, May 5th--we got our full asking price out of the guys that broke into our house! So no more Saint Petersburg for us!

Campbell and Annastyn are a having fun at the Farm, and Brian is really starting to get busy at his law firm. I am excited for this year! We will move into the Flicker house soon and then will settle into the Lecanto ward. I am hoping to have a fun celebration for Annastyn's first B-day--which is right around the corner. I am joining Brian and 2 of his bosses in a golf tournament next Friday (May 19th)--thankfully it is best ball.

I am also hosting a golf tournament (for BYU Alumni) on May 25th (let me know if you want to play!!!)

I've been on dial up for the last month--so I can't load any pictures or movies--but I have some cute ones of the girls in the powerwheel and of Brian's ceremony when he took the oath of an attorney.

Dad, Kelly, and Mom (along w/ some of the Williams clan) came to Brian's ceremony. We also got to show the Mitchell group a little bit of our new life. They saw our lots where we are going to build and also the rental house that we will be living in for the next several months. We also all got a tour of Brian's office (and I think Mom picked up several of Brian's business cards).

Matt should know that the Tulip painting is in Brian's office--I was very mad that he took it out of our home--but we don't have a house to hang pictures--Brian promised to return it to our house as soon as we were able to hang pictures--in the meantime--he's going to share Matt's art with others.

I'm excited for this year and for my transition from a work-at-home mom to a stay-at-home mom. As far as I can tell, Campbell is really excited too!

I hope everyone is doing great!

That's all for now! Feel free to update the blog--or make corrections!

Things I know about:
May 20th: Trip to Naples for Bday party
May 13th: Mother's day--I think Mom is working :<
May 31st: My last day of work
Today: My B-day! (Thanks dad and Kelly for the cards!)

The house we are going to build is online--I'm going to post a link when I find it. It's a small but cute house--room to build on in the future if we need it (i.e. it doesn't have a garage etc.)--but it's affordable now. So we shall see.
